Josh Jones is a PhD candidate in biological oceanography at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO). His research focuses on Arctic marine mammals and underwater noise. Josh is the director of the public education project, Whales: Voices in the Sea and SIO lead on SeaTech, a technology training and research internship program for teens from California to Alaska. Before coming to SIO in 2003, Josh was mate and manager of the whale research vessel, Odyssey, and led whale research expeditions throughout the northern and central Pacific.
